About me
I am originally a research scientist prior to my current senior lecturor position, and remain active in research within a number of subject areas. These currently include the development of electrochemical sensors and biosensors for the agri-food, environmental and biomedical sectors, research into long-term industrial legacy on environmental quality, soil quality and nutrient and carbon dynamics, and studies into microbial fermentation and cell bioreactor systems. My teaching covers equally expansive subject areas, centred on Environmental Science and involvement in CPD provision.
I am a member of the British Society of Soil Science and IUPAC, a Stakeholder in the IPBES and Sustainable Soils Alliance, a Fellow of the HEA, member of Working Group 1 of the International Network on Soil Biodiversity (NETSOB) and member of the QAA.
Area of expertise
I have wide-ranging expertise in electrochemical sensor and biosensor development, soil science, environmental science and fermentation microbiology.
